What is the role of a Nursery Nurse?

A nursery nurse will be employed within a nursery and is responsible for the quality and standards of care and education.

Job description

• Providing learning activities which are educational, stimulating and fun.
• Maintaining a safe and secure environment.
• Follow the development and progress of individual children.
• Building strong relationships with parents and communicating about the child’s development.

Ideal candidate

• Will have an NVQ level 2 or 3 and previous experience working with children. Get both of these with an Apprenticeship.
• Will be able to develop good relationships with both adults and children. 
• Compassionate.
• Teamworker.
• Good communicator.
• Interested in child development.
